Artistic work

Helena Björnberg (1955) is an artist and stage designer with many years of experience in design work. After 10 years of professional experience in theatre work Helena chose to continue her education at the Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm to work with design and lighting in public spaces

“Light is our visual music.” It is the light that creates the rhythm of our visual experience. The visual impact we can never ignore. It affects us whether we like it or not, good or bad. It is therefore important consciously to control these effects with a well constructed visual dramaturgy.

Between 1997-2010, Helena developed the company ”Ljusgestaltning” for producing design programs and lighting for a number of significant buildings, sites, neighborhoods and inner city environments in Sweden. Major reference projects include Skeppsholmen (on behalf of the National Property Board), Hammarby Sjöstad, Hagastaden, Djurgårdsstaden (on behalf of the Stockholm City Planning) and the Sandgrund Park in Karlstad.

Longing for free art activities in 2009 Helena decided to produce the sculptures that she had developed over the years and to cast them in bronze.
